Real Estate is still booming in Cottage Country!
Although we are starting to see the market slow down a touch, numbers are still in favor of Sellers. With an average sale price of $839,741 on waterfront properties in Haliburton and $500,612 on residential properties, the market is up 37% and 57% respectively. Haliburton waterfront properties for sale last about 12 days on the market and residential properties are around 20. So if you see something you like you’ve got to move quickly before it’s gone! In comparison to 2020, there is roughly the same number of properties available. This leaves a good inventory for buyers to choose from. However, this year waterfront properties are going for 114% of the list price compared to the 99% they were going for this time last year, and residential is up 9% going for 106% of the asking price.
The crazy bidding wars are still happening, but mostly in the lower price ranges. Higher-end properties are starting to sit on the market for longer and are getting fewer offers. This is good news for buyers it appears a shift is starting to happen, giving them a better shot at getting their dream property.
